Abstract

This study aims to improve motivation and learning achievement IPS through the use of media in learning CD Elementary School fourth grade students Tunjungsari I Kalasan Sleman the school year 2015/2016. This study was conducted in primary schools Tunjungsari I. This research is a class act. Subjects in this study were students in fourth grade I Tunjungsari State totaling 34 students. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire, observation and tests. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive percentages. The results showed that 1) the use of CD media can increase students’ motivation, this is evidenced by the increase in student motivation on pre sikus by 25 students (73.53%), increased in the first cycle of 27 students (79.41%) and in the second cycle as many as 31 students 91.18%. 2) use of CD media may improve student achievement, this is evidenced by students who have completed the pre-cycle value sebanyak16 students (47.06%)% with an average value of 70.88 increased in the first cycle to 21 students (61, 76%) with an average value of 74, and the second cycle to 28 students (82.35%) with the average value 78.35).
