Rapid technological advances demand high achievers to succeed, which is achieved through education. Education is a process that provides humans with understanding, knowledge, and behavior as needed, and improves the quality of human resources. Learning independence allows students to optimize their abilities without depending on others, thus improving the quality of learning. Various studies have shown that high learning independence correlates with good problem-solving skills. Interviews with students revealed that learning independence is easier to achieve at home than at school due to distractions from other students. Lack of curiosity and dependence on easy solutions hinder learning independence. Interview results show that students tend to cheat, but active students are more independent than passive ones. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional intelligence and learning independence on the value of science learning outcomes at SMP Negeri Sukabumi. The method used was a survey with multiple linear regression techniques on 88 students. The results showed: 1) Emotional intelligence and learning independence together have a significant effect on the value of science learning outcomes (Sig = 0.000 < 0.05; Fcount = 19.739). 2) Emotional intelligence has a significant effect on the value of science learning outcomes (Sig = 0.000 <0.05; Fcount = 5.382). 3) Learning independence has a significant effect on the value of science learning outcomes (Sig = 0.009 <0.05; Fcount = 1.896). Learning independence is an important aspect that needs to be developed to achieve satisfactory educational outcomes.
